Sahro My name is Sahro. I was born in Somalia, specifically, Mogadishu. My family is in Kenya. They have lived there for a very long time. I have six brothers and two sisters in my family. I am the first born. l love my family. I am a mom of four children. I have a husband and I love my husband and my children and my friends. Especially Warsan Bashiir. She is my best friend in the world. When we were living in Kenya, we were working in a beauty salon. We were always together. When I went to other places, she could not sleep until I came back home. Because in Kenya there are a lot of gangs and soldiers. Sometimes they catch you and they ask you for your documents. If you don't have them they arrest you. If you have the documents and the money, they take the money and leave you. If you have the documents and you know their language and English, they leave you alone. It is hard for someone from Somalia to live in Kenya. But when I came to America it is a fair country and we get a good life, good job, nice people helping us. I can go to school or work. We get honest people and we get a good doctor and good medicine. I am not worried like I was in Kenya and I say Thank you all American people especially doctors and my teacher, Paul, and President Barack Obama. I say thanks to all American people.
